Lizzy & Kevin Engagement Photos | McDaniel Farm Park | Duluth
I’ve known Lizzy since we met in high school, and she has always been super sweet and so thoughtful. She met Kevin while in college and they’ve been dating for 8 years! Kevin proposed earlier this year while they were on a beach trip, and they’re getting married later this year. When Lizzy sent me engagement photos that she liked, the common thread among all of the photos was the bright, natural light and nature. So taking engagement photos at a park during golden hour was the obvious choice. Lizzy and Kevin decided on McDaniel Farm Park in Duluth, GA, and it was the perfect place for their photos. A storm was looming for most of the day and it even rained multiple times throughout the day, but we were all hopeful that we could still make the session happen. Working with Lizzy and Kevin was easy, fun, natural, and such an honor! I am thrilled to be their wedding photographer and to capture their special day that they’ve been looking forward to for so long. I love all of their photos, but I picked some of my absolute favorites to share below!
My top 3 favorite things from Lizzy & Kevin’s engagement session:
Perfect timing with the stormy weather- as I mentioned above, it rained off and on all day, but when it was time for their session, the sun came out and the rain held off. It started pouring shortly after we wrapped up shooting, seriously perfect timing!
Their dog - When Lizzy asked me if they could get some shots with their dog, Optimus, I said of course! I love taking photos of people and their cherished animals, and I think Optimus completed the photo session.
McDaniel Farm Park - This was my first time shooting at McDaniel Farm Park in Gwinnett County, and I highly recommend it for all types of sessions! The nature was abundant and there are tons of great options for other settings like the bridge, a few historic homes, and seating areas. I also appreciated that it wasn’t super crowded like most of the larger parks in Atlanta tend to be on weekends.
